The recognition at the UNCTAD World Investment Forum in Doha highlights our commitment to using technology to advance financial literacy and inclusion among young people.

Lagos, Nigeria — We are proud to announce that our Founder and CEO, Biobele Oyibo, has received the Technology Award at the Women in Business Awards, held during the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) World Investment Forum in Doha, Qatar. The awards were supported by the Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA).
This recognition reinforces our mission to equip children and teenagers with the financial knowledge, practical skills and tools they need to make confident money decisions from an early age.
At Earlybean, we believe financial education should go beyond textbooks and theoretical lessons. Young people need opportunities to experience money management in their everyday lives. They need to understand how money works, develop healthy financial habits and have the tools to put what they learn into practice.
That belief drives how we build our platform. We combine interactive financial education with practical money management tools, including digital wallets, savings features and NFC wristbands for cashless payments. Through short video lessons, quizzes and games, we make learning about money engaging while giving young people opportunities to practise earning, saving and spending. Our platform also gives parents greater visibility and oversight of their children's financial activities.
Our commitment to making financial education practical and accessible continues to translate into measurable growth. We have reached 10,000 users, partnered with 10 schools and processed over ₦100 million in transactions. These milestones reflect our growing efforts to bring financial literacy into the everyday experiences of young people, helping them move beyond learning about money in theory to developing habits they can carry into adulthood.
Commenting on the recognition, our CEO said:
"This recognition means a great deal because we're working on something that can shape how the next generation understands and manages money. Building Earlybean has been a journey of learning, persistence and working with a team that believes children deserve better tools to prepare for their financial future. I'm proud of what we've built so far, and even more excited about the work ahead."
Biobele founded Earlybean with a vision to help children across Africa develop healthy financial habits from an early age. She brings over 11 years of experience in marketing and communications, having developed strategies for brands across Nigeria.
She holds a BSc in Entrepreneurship from the University of Buckingham and master's degrees in International Business and Disruptive Innovation from Hult International Business School. Her experience in business, marketing and innovation continues to shape her approach to building solutions that address real challenges and create opportunities for the next generation.
As we celebrate this milestone, our focus remains on expanding our reach, strengthening our partnerships and creating more opportunities for young people to develop the financial confidence they need for the future.
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to build a healthy relationship with money. And we are committed to making that possible, one lesson, one transaction and one financial decision at a time.
